Her Story

 

LORI OLIVERO - OWNER

 

Lori has been an Executive Pastry Chef in San Francisco for 15 years, working for and running kitchens in upscale hotels & restaurants like St. Regis Hotel, The Fairmont, Rosewood Sandhill Resort & Madera Restaurant. 

She originally came from a small farming town in the middle of California called Chowchilla, raised in a close Italian family where she was always around animals. Whether it was working with sheep, cattle or horses or just being home with her dogs & cats.  Over the years living in San Francisco, Lori has always taken care of her friends' dog, Clancey & her fathers' dog, Isabella (Izzy). She recently left the kitchen to come back to her roots & her love of dogs and animals. There she joined up with Born To Run SF in 2012 and learned the ropes from master dog lover and owner of BTR, Robert Jaeger. She later went through Dogtec's advanced Certified Dog Walker course and Pet Tech's CPR & First Aid training. She is a member of Pet Sitter's International and Dogwalker.com. 

Her hobbies include cooking/baking (eating), hiking,  being with close friends and family and Giants baseball…to name a few.

She has been a resident of San Francisco's Richmond district since 1998, along with her Maine Coon cat, Tahlula Bell (Lula), the little love of her life.

 

Story of the Business

Originally I had started a pastry business in 2011 and was mostly doing small jobs here but somewhere along the way I lost the passion for being inside the kitchen all day. I was out at Crissy Field playing with my Dad's dog, Izzy and noticed a man with a group of dogs having a ball (literally). I talked to him about what he did and the whole time listening to his funny stories with a big grin on his face. I could tell he was truely enjoying his life with these dogs and they were all gathered around him lovingly playful and excited to be there with him too. I knew that was what I wanted. How could I not want to be outside in the most beautiful city, around friends running and playing, whether it be 2 legs or 4.
